State Housing Trust Fund

In accordance with Iowa Code section 16.181 a housing trust fund (Fund or SHTF) is held within the Iowa Finance Authority (IFA).  The moneys in the Fund are to be used for the development and preservation of affordable housing for Low-income people in the state.  One of the programs under the Fund is the Project-Based Housing Program.

Many of our affiliates are eligible to apply for these moneys under the SHTF Project-Based Housing Program as the area they serve is not in a geographic area served by a Local Housing Trust Fund (LHTF).
